THE STUDIOUS AND THE ESCAPIST

A collection of paintings attempting to quantify or identify the effects of using studious habits in the same way that that the artist was using self destructive practices such as exercise bulimia, drug, and alcohol abuse during the time this work was being made.  During this span of time the artist was working through PTSD induced anxiety that was caused by several use of sexual abuse in here early teens. The long, slender, form of the paintings were intended to evoke the feeling of confrontation.
